This accession concerns the Revolutionary War Campaign of 1781, principally Tarleton's Raid. The compiler corresponded with Elie Weeks, one of a committee appointed by the Virginia Bicentennial Commission to prepare a map showing all military activities in Virginia, 1774-1783. The movements of Banastre Tarleton are the primary topic of the correspondence. The movements in each county visited by Tarleton are detailed and maps showing the movements are included.
